Female Junior Athlete of the Year, sponsored by Dutch Cycle:
Age Group Athlete of the Year
The Age Group Athlete of the Year award recognizes outstanding accomplishments by an age –group athlete. Each year, Saskatchewan has hundreds of athletes competing both inside and outside of the province, and it is our hope that we will be able to raise the recognition of some of our wonderful athletes through this annual award.
Long Course Athlete of the Year
Our next awards are recognizing athletes competing in Long Course events. The training for these distances can be grueling and come race day, it is often the individual with the greatest determination and grit who finishes the race. In our inaugural year for this award, we have two very special candidates to recognize.
Female Long Course Athlete of the Year
Male Long Course Athlete of the Year
Official Award:
This award is presented to the person who has provided outstanding leadership and skill in the area of triathlon officiating in our province. As we all know, this can be a very demanding job where one receives little in the way of compliments or expressions of gratitude. When faced with criticism officials are still required to demonstrate a fair and balanced disposition.
Coaching Award, sponsored by the Broda Group of Companies:
This award recognizes excellence in the area of coaching. The nominees’ contributions can include committee involvement, clinics, organization of races, programs, development of assistant coaches, and other service record information including leadership initiatives.
This award goes to a coach who is ethical, progressive and fair and whose athletes show steady improvement under their guidance. The award also looks for examples of concern for the all-round development of the athletes with a focus on assisting individuals balancing sport, social and educational needs, and in developing confidence, self-discipline and respect.
This award recognized outstanding contributions to the sport by an individual in the past year.
The Builder /Long Service award is designed to recognize those volunteers who have left a significant mark on the sport of triathlon in our province. Through their participation as a racer, event organizer, or race official, the Long Service Award recognizes this contribution to the sport. If not for these individuals who dedicate selfless hours to organizing events, our sport would have dissolved away years ago.
